The Barber Who Didn’t Know He Was in a Book

Jayson is the barber from the debut Glimpse publication, Quiet Miracles.

Not entirely fiction. There really is a Jayson.

The kind who greets you like you matter before you even sit down. Who remembers you, your last conversation, and the worry you tried to laugh off the last time you were in. The kind of barber who turns an ordinary haircut into something a little more sacred. And he might serenade you with a Sinatra song.

In the book, there’s a barber like that. A man who sees people. A chair that holds stories. And yes, Sinatra is always playing on the stereo.

But here’s the truth: that barber was inspired by the real JV Razor, Jayson.

Jayson cuts hair at JV Razor in Greece Ridge Mall in Rochester, NY. He was my inspiration for writing Quiet Miracles… and he has no idea.

He doesn’t know that a quiet moment in his shop helped spark the first story that has become a trilogy. He doesn’t know that his way of listening—with patience, humor, memory, and grace—became part of the soul of our first book.

But he’s about to find out.

This week, we’re going to stop by his chair with a signed copy of Quiet Miracles—and finally let him in on the secret.

Some people go their whole lives not knowing the difference they made.

We wanted to make sure he knew.

Quiet Miracles is the first book from Glimpse Publishing. It’s a story of the ordinary becoming holy—of strangers who change each other in unexpected, unseen ways. The kind of story where a haircut becomes a moment of healing… and a chair becomes something closer to an altar.

If you’ve ever been changed by someone who didn’t even know it—this one is for you.

Stay tuned for more behind-the-scenes glimpses, or join our early reader circle [link] to receive a preview copy.

And Jayson—if you’re reading this now… thank you for being the kind of person who listens.

You were the first quiet miracle.
