Become a Shadow Agent — Glimpse Publishing House
Glimpse Publishing House · Project Care Package
There’s a quiet operation running in this city.

It deals in hope. It’s recruiting.

A Shadow Agent is an ordinary person who carries one of our books into a room where someone is having the worst day of their year — and leaves it there, anonymously, for them to find.

The Role
First and foremost: why this operation exists.

This operation exists to provide free support to people who may need it, at what could be one of the most difficult times of their lives. We do this work because we care and we want to help. Everything on this page — the missions, the equipment, the ranks — is machinery in service of that one purpose.

A Shadow Agent is how that support travels. Not a donor. Not a volunteer with a name tag. An Agent is the delivery itself — the person who takes a book written for someone’s hardest day and physically puts it where that day is happening. Emotional care has only ever traveled one way: person to person. Agents are the persons.

We know where the shadows are. Every town has them — the rooms where someone is having the worst day of their year. Our books are written for those rooms. Your mission is to carry one there.

  • The hospice lobby, late in the evening
  • The hospital chapel, always open
  • The waiting room where the news arrives
  • An Assisted Living facility
  • The coffee shop table where someone sits alone
The Work
What you’re enlisting to do —
and what’s expected of you.
The Training Mission
One book. One place.

Every agent’s service begins with one training mission. Your mission book arrives with its tracking tag applied and a destination waiting — a place matched to the zone you give HQ. Your work is to get it there.

The Drop
You deliver it yourself.

No shipping label. No middleman. Leave it where it will be found and slip back out — or walk up and put it straight into someone’s hands. Your call, Agent. Either way, you photograph the drop and confirm the mission in your console.

They’ll never know your name. That’s the point.

The Ripple
Then comes the part no one expects.

After you enlist, you name one person — someone in your own life carrying something heavy. The moment your drop is confirmed, they receive an audiobook from the Glimpse library, sent in your honor, with a note telling them it exists because of a good thing you just did in the world.

One mission. Two lives touched — a stranger you may never meet, and someone you love.

The First Rule of Fieldwork
Every assignment is yours to accept or reject. Always.

Nothing in this operation is automatic and nothing is obligated. You choose your missions, you choose your pace, you choose your places. You are in complete control — on day one, and every day after.

The Value
What one enlistment sets in motion.

The greatest thing your service gives is what it does for people you will never meet — and one person you love. The giving side comes first. It’s why we’re here.

Given Away Free — Because of You
Every mission is two acts of free support, and both of them are yours.
  • 01One of our books, placed by your own hands, free, where someone is having the worst day of their year.
  • 02One audiobook sent in your honor, with your note, to the person you name — someone in your life carrying something heavy.
One mission Two lives touched
And what’s issued to you.

Your ID is issued digitally within minutes of enlisting; the rest arrives in a single envelope. Nothing here is a souvenir — every item is equipment, and none of it costs you anything.

The Training Mission Book

Your assigned title for your first mission, tracking tag already applied. A sponsor funded it before it ever reached your hands — you’re the one trusted to carry it.

Shadow Agent ID

Issued digitally, minutes after you enlist — matte black, carrying your number and call sign. Tap it and your console opens; save it to your phone’s home screen and it lives in your pocket. The card that makes people ask.

The Mission Console

Your command post at glimpsepublishing.com/mission — your assignments, your counts, and every journey your tags report in. Your card opens it with a tap, from anywhere, for good.

Six Field Tags

Your standing authorization to run missions of your own — a Glimpse title, or a book from your shelf that once carried you through something. Tag it, log it, place it. In the Reserves, these are how you keep serving between call-ups; every scan reports to your console, wherever the book travels.

Agent Provisions
Every agent is a member of the Glimpse Circle. Provisions are issued across your year of service — free, like everything else about serving.
  • 01Two audiobooks on enlistment — A Heart’s Second Chance, yours as a Circle member, and Everything True Has Always Been Simple, a gift issued only to Shadow Agents.
  • 02Twelve more across your service — each month’s featured audiobook, a Circle provision, every month of your year.

How It Works
From enlistment to mission complete.
Step 01
You enlist — free.

Nothing to pay — not at the door, not ever. The only things enlistment asks are your name, your email, and where to ship your Mission Pack. That’s not paperwork; that’s an envelope needing an address. The form is at the bottom of this page.

Step 02
Your identity arrives within minutes.

The welcome email leads with your agent number and your call sign — every agent carries one. Your Agent Card is inside: tap it open, add it to your home screen, and your ID lives on your phone. Your first provisions are there too, ready to claim.

Step 03
You answer HQ’s three questions.

In your console, on your own time: where you are, so HQ can match your zone. Who you’re honoring — the person in your life carrying something heavy. And which audiobook they should receive, chosen by you from the gift menu. HQ knows what suits a hospice waiting room; you know what your sister would read.

Step 04
Your kit ships.

HQ assigns your training mission book from the Mission Shelf — matched to your zone — applies its tracking tag, and the envelope is on its way: your plated book and your six field tags.

Step 05
You make the drop.

Place the book where it will be found. Photograph it. Confirm it in your console. That confirmation is the moment the mission counts — and the moment your training is complete.

Step 06
Two lives are touched at once.

The book joins the operation’s public count — a real book, really placed. And in the same moment, the person you named receives their audiobook, in your honor, with your note.

A stranger you may never meet, and someone you love.

Step 07
You enter the Reserves.

One confirmed mission is the whole of training. From that moment you hold a place in the Glimpse Reserves — the standing roster this operation calls on when a sponsor funds a new Project Care Package within reach of your zone. A call-up is an offer, never an order, and no one will promise you how often one comes. Between call-ups, your six field tags keep you in the field on your own terms.

Trained once. Ready always.

Your place in the Reserves holds for one full year, renewable by invitation. When a sponsored project stands up within your reach, reservists are called first — another book, or three, placed at no cost to you. A call-up isn’t an obligation. It’s a promotion — and like every assignment, yours to accept or decline. And the road up runs through the work: Shadow Couriers — the ones commissioned to keep a sponsored project supplied — are appointed, never enlisted, drawn from the people a project cannot do without: its most active Agents, and the local partners who open its doors.

The Terms
What it costs —
and who pays for all of this.
One Enlistment Sets All of This in Motion
  • →One physical book, placed free, by your own hands, for a stranger on their worst day
  • →One audiobook sent in your honor, with your note, to the person you name
  • →Your full field kit — the plated mission book, six field tags, and your digital Agent ID
  • →Fourteen audiobooks across your year of service — two on enlistment, one every month you serve
Enlistment · today and always Free

That is the complete cost of your year of service: nothing. There are no charges — not at enlistment, not at shipping, not monthly, not ever. Service is always free. That’s the design, not a promotion.

Then Who Pays?
Sponsors supply the resources. Glimpse, as the Quartermaster, runs the logistics. You serve.

Every book in the field arrives through Project Care Package — sponsors fund complete projects, 250 books at a time, and Glimpse matches every placed book with a digital gift given free. Giving is always optional and lives with the sponsors; serving was never meant to cost the server anything. If one day you feel moved to stand on both sides, the operation page shows every way in.

And From Here
Nothing renews, because nothing is charged.

When your year of service closes, you’ll receive an invitation to re-enlist — free, like the first one. Accept it, or don’t. Like everything in this operation, the choice is always yours, and you are in complete control.

Level 1 · Shadow Agent
Join the ranks of those helping others find emotional support.

Because this is the only way emotional care has ever traveled — not from institutions down, but from person to person, reaching people where they are, when they’re in need. You now know why we do this, the work, the equipment, and the terms. The operation has one question left.
